YEREVAN. – At Thursday’s Cabinet session, the government decided to criminalize in Armenia the public calls for terrorism, funding terrorism and international terrorism, as well as the public justification or preaching of the committing of these offenses.

Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan introduced the respective draft decision to the government. He noted that this policy stems also from the requirement of the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism.

Zeynalyan added that fines, or detention, or imprisonment will be imposed in Armenia for the committing of the above-said offenses.
