YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Acting Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received director Sergey Sopin of Ekotexprom company of Russia. 

And after the talk, this company and Business Armenia—the country’s national authority for investment, export and tourism promotion—signed a memorandum of mutual understanding.

Accordingly, Ekotexprom plans to invest $285 to $340 million in Armenia and build an industrial facility that will produce calcined soda, table and technical salt, as well as glass, and the products will be exported to Russia and some other countries.

The designing of this facility will start in 2019 and be completed in 2022.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the government website that, as a result of this venture, 1,100 to 1,200 new jobs will be created in Armenia.
