Armenia’s acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov in Paris.

The meeting was organized at the suggestion of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan has earlier met OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his Georgian counterpart  Mamuka Bakhtadze had an informal meeting in Bolnisi, Georgia on January 15.

During the informal meeting the interlocutors exchanged views on a number of issues of bilateral agenda.

Nikol Pashinyan and Mamuka Bakhtadze also had a short meeting with the residents of the Armenian-populated Bolnisi village, previously clalled Bolnis-Khachen.

The Russian Foreign ministry has sent a note to the Azerbaijani embassy over the discriminatory attitude towards Russian citizens of Armenian origin at the airport of Baku.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov touched upon the matter on Wednesday. He expressed hope that as a result of negotiations with Azerbaijan, will be able to have Marat Ueldanov-Galstyan returned to Russia.

Marat Ueldanov-Galstyan is a Russian citizen of Armenian origin. In July 2016, he was arrested in Azerbaijan, and on charges of “illegal acquisition, production, possession and distribution” of a large quantity of “narcotics.”

Observation of the early parliamentary elections in Armenia is on the agenda of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe winter session that will open next Monday.

The matter will be presented by rapporteur Aleksander Pociej from Poland.

A verdict on the custody case of Armenia’s second President Robert Kocharyan will be issued Friday at 5:30pm.

The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction will rule on the motion by the legal defense team of Kocharyan, and to the effect that their client be released from custody on bail, as well as on the petition by the Special Investigation Service, and with a request to extend Kocharyan’s confinement for another two months.
