Armenian Ambassador to Iran Artashes Tumanyan met on Monday with Iranian Foreign Ministry's Director-General for Eurasian Affairs Gholamreza Bagheri Moghaddam, the Armenian MFA reported.

The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues related to the bilateral agenda, outlined the steps to be taken for the further development of political and trade-economic cooperation between the two countries. In this context, both sides highlighted the organization of high-level mutual visits.

The sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues. Ambassador Tumanyan briefed on the latest developments in the Karabakh conflict, Armenia's approaches and its principled position.

Touching upon the recent statement on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Iranian Foreign Ministry representative reiterated that Iran's official position on the Karabakh conflict remains unchanged. Iran continues to support the negotiation process  and exclusively peaceful settlement of the conflict.
