YEREVAN. – The Armenian government will not subsidize gas prices for internal consumers, PM Nikol Pashinyan said during a briefing in Moscow on Friday.
In 2019 the gas price for consumers will not rise, he said, adding that Armenia has a year to continue consultations with Russia, Gazprom and the Eurasian Union to tackle the problem for long-term period.
PM said it is right to solve the problem within the Eurasian Union, as the matter is about a common economic area.
Earlier Gazprom said the subsidiary Gazprom Armenia will purchase Russian gas for $165 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas, which is a $15 increase.
