Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) Arman Tatoyan on Wednesday met with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) co-rapporteurs for the monitoring of obligations and commitments by Armenia, and who are on a fact-finding visit to the country. 

They discussed the activities of the Armenian Ombudsman, the human rights work being conducted in Armenia, the respective challenges that have been recorded, and the steps being taken to address these challenges.

The interlocutors reflected also on the activities by the Ombudsman’s staff during the events that unrolled in Armenia, in April and May of the year past.

The PACE co-rapporteurs on Armenia lauded the Ombudsman’s activities, and expressed readiness to continue cooperation.

Tatoyan, for his part, conveyed his willingness to maintain collaboration toward the continued strengthening of human rights and democratic institutions.
