YEREVAN. – At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Government of Armenia, it was decided to appoint Vahagn Vermishyan as Chairman of Urban Development Committee.
Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan presented the matter.
Vermishyan, for his part, noted that he is an architect, and in 1989, he had worked as the chief architect of Stepanavan city.
“Subsequently, I continued my work activities in the Russian Federation, Sudan, China, Dubai, Europe,” he added. “I have designed and built more than 5 million structures, including the Moscow Domodedovo Airport, huge objects, cities in Sudan, Eritrea. I have returned to Armenia 1.5 years ago, and decided to work for my homeland.”
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, congratulated Vahagn Vermishyan and wished him success.
Avetik Eloyan was recently relieved of his duties as Chairman of Urban Development Committee and was appointed Adviser to Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.
