Former Chinese Prime Minister, Li Peng, died in Beijing aged 90, The Guardian reported referring to the state media.
He is known as the “Butcher of Beijing” for his role in the crackdown on the Tiananmen Square protests.
Li Peng headed the Chinese government from 1988 to 1998, then he served for five years as the chair of the Standing Committee of the All-China Assembly of People’s Representatives - the highest legislative body of China.
