According to preliminary data, the cause of the tragic accident in Karabakh, leaving five people killed, was that the driver fell asleep while driving, Armenian police press service reported.

As reported earlier, at 4:30 pm, the MES emergency hotline was informed that a traffic accident had occurred on the Goris-Stepanakert motorway, near the town of Shushi, in the Republic of Artsakh.

Accordingly, a car had gone off the road and rolled about 80 meters into the valley. As a result, five residents of Tegh village in Armenia’s Syunik Province—driver A. H. (born in 1992) and passengers N. G. (born in 1994), R. A. (born in 1982), S. B. (born in 1961), and A. A. (born in 1958)—had died on the spot.
