The initiative group for the election of the new Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople has sent a respective petition to the Governorship of Istanbul, Turkey.
The initiative group informed in its petition that it plans to hold this election in December, Jamanak Armenian newspaper of Istanbul reported.
Once the Turkish authorities approve this petition, preparations for the election of the new Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople will be officially launched.
