State budget revenues are not forecast according to certain organizations. They are forecast based on statistics and macro indicators. This is what Armenia’s Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan told journalists following a cabinet session today, touching upon the impact that the operation of the Amulsar gold mine may have on the state budget.

“The impact will be the same whether it is operated or not. If you are asking about deviation from the state budget or macro forecasts, the government doesn’t believe there are risks of deviation,” he said.

When asked for his opinion on the operation of the Amulsar gold mine, the minister said Armenia needs to rely on and be guided by the results of the expert examination.

In response to a specifying question about the government inclination to operate the mine, Janjughazyan said the government is taking responsibility for this and will let everyone know about its decision when it makes that decision.
