Armenian parliament discusses land tax exemption for farmers on Monday during the parliament meeting.

“We want to support our farmers, especially since the Constitution states that we have a social state,” said Prosperous Armenia Party MP and parliament vice-speaker on Monday during the second reading of the draft law on amendments to the Tax Code.

According to him, the economic revolution, which the new government intends to carry out in Armenia, needs to be confirmed in the form of real actions. He explained that the bill proposes to exempt farmers from paying land tax for those years when 50% or more of the crop in agricultural lands suffered due to adverse climatic conditions (frost, hail, drought).
