Georgian police have detained 16 protesters for committing minor hooliganism and not following the legitimate demands of police officers near the Georgian parliament, as reported the press service of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs to Sputnik Gruzia.

Since early morning, the leaders of opposition parties, including the former ruling Unified National Movement have been gathered near the parliament building due to today’s vote for judge candidates of the Supreme Court of Georgia. The leaders of the Unified National Movement and their supporters are against the candidates who had adopted “political decisions” in their favor in the past.

Among the candidates are people who are blamed for creating “clan management” in courts during the term of the incumbent authorities.
