In its plenary session Wednesday, the Parliament of Georgia passed, in the first reading, the bill on foreign agents.

This proposed law has caused mass protests in the capital Tbilisi

The respective voting was broadcast live on the website of the Georgian legislature.

A total of 83 MPs voted in favor, none against.

The quorum consisted of 50 lawmakers.

The voting, however, was held without the participation of the parliamentary opposition.
