YEREVAN. – Changes were made to the 2019 budget of Yerevan. As a result, it was decided to increase targeted allocations by 3 million 950 thousand drams, of which 2 million drams will be allocated for the construction of a memorial to the victims of the March 1, 2008 tragedy. The corresponding decision was taken on December 16, at the special session of the Yerevan Council of Elders.
In addition, the subsidies for the Yerevan subway will increase by about 900 thousand drams.
On March 1, 2008, eight demonstrators and two servicemen of the interior troops were killed as a result of a government-opposition clash in downtown Yerevan.
