Authorities express disrespect, disregard, and sometimes it comes to outright threats like "the relevant authorities will take care of you," the executive director of the TV Channel 5 Harutyun Harutyunyan told reporters on Friday.

He recalled that yesterday’s behavior of the chair of the parliamentary Commission on Defense and Security, the deputy from the My Step ruling bloc  Andranik Kocharyan, became a fresh manifestation of disrespect towards the channel.

According to the director, the channel’s audience has grown significantly over the past year, the attitude of people towards the work of the editorial board has changed, and this, of course, is unnerving for the authorities.

"We receive many calls from viewers about their readiness to support us," he said.

As reported earlier, the Yerevan Court of First Instance has granted the motion to arrest TV Channel 5 owner Armen Tavadyan.
