Owner of Fifth Channel television company Armen Tavadyan’s attorney Hovhannes Khudoyan has submitted a motion to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia to replace the detention pre-trial measure with personal pledge. This is what Hovhannes Khudoyan told journalists today.

The supporters of Armen Tavadyan were holding a protest in front of the Prosecutor General’s Office with signs reading “For Armenia, For Law, For Citizen, For VICTORY”, “Selective Justice”, “New Armenia: Land of Political Prisoners”.

The attorney said mass media outlets have submitted their personal pledge to commute Tavadyan’s pre-trial measure.

Armen Tavadyan was detained under the case of the offer that second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan’s supporter Varuzhan Mkrtchyan, based on the video prepared by the Police of Armenia, made to a victim under the case of the events of March 1, 2008 to refuse to testify. He was arrested after being suspected of bribing or coercing to give false testimony or phony conclusion or wrong translation.
