The health condition of ex-finance minister of Armenia, ex-head of the State Revenue Committee Gagik Khachatryan is unsatisfactory. This is what Khachatryan’s attorney Amram Makinyan told reporters today.

As reported earlier, the ex-finance minister had been transferred to Astghik Medical Center. Yesterday his attorneys reported that there was a need to provide medical aid and that doctors had stated that Khachatryan had to undergo heart checkup and other urgent checkups and treatment. Gagik Khachatryan was transferred from Yerevan Penitentiary Institution to Astghik Medical Center and was under doctors’ supervision. Today he was transferred to the penitentiary institution.

Gagik Khachatryan has been in custody for nearly six months. He is charged with alleged abuse of official powers and squander of assets during his term of office between 2008 and 2014. His attorneys say his detention is unlawful.
