The administration of the Mili Mejlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan has been completely changed, and by a majority of votes, Azerbaijani deputies have elected Sahib Gafarov to be the parliament’s spokesperson.

Gafarov, 64, is a philologist and has been a deputy since 2010, reports Turan.

Ali Huseinli, who was nominated by Yeni Azerbaijan Party, has been elected first deputy speaker.

Ex-police officer Adil Aliyev has become the deputy speaker of independent MPs, and member of the Civil Solidarity Party Fazail Ibrahimli has been elected deputy speaker from the parliamentary minority.
