Some of the Armenian citizens who were in Italy did not want to return by a special flight organized last Sunday, Armenian MFA spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan told reporters on Wednesday.

Asked to comment on why out of 150 declared only 63 citizens have returned, the spokeswoman said some of them had changed their minds after learning about the upcoming quarantine. Some of them decided to stay in Italy, others decided to go through third countries.

She recalled that Armenia accepts all Armenian citizens and people with dual citizenship.

The spokeswoman also urged citizens abroad to contact primarily embassies and the MFA, but not the media.
