YEREVAN. - Commandant Tigran Avinyan did not visit Artak Davtyan's house yesterday.

Vahan Hunanyan, spokesperson for Deputy Prime Minister Avinyan—who is also Commandant of the current state of emergency in Armenia due to the COVID-19 situation in the country, on Monday told this to Armenian News-NEWS.am, responding to the media reports that after the publication of a video related to the wedding of the son of Artak Davtyan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Tigran Avinyan, accompanied by the police, had gone to Davtyan's mansion.

"The matter will be studied, and if a violation of the state of emergency is registered, the violators will be held accountable," the spokesperson added.

As reported earlier, Hraparak daily published a video announcing that Artak Davtyan's son's wedding party took place in his mansion, and which was attended by several dozen people. And on Monday morning, Factor.am reported that on the instructions of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan—who is also Commandant of the current state of emergency in Armenia due to the COVID-19 situation in the country—accompanied by police, had gone to Davtyan's mansion to stop this event.

And Artak Davtyan on Monday issued a statement, noting: “Everyone is equal before the law, and if I have committed any wrongdoing, I will bear the responsibility stemming from it.”
