Armenia still hasn’t launched production of coronavirus tests, and the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention still hasn’t completed its examination of the first batch of tests sent by the Molecular Biology Institute, as reported Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health Alina Nikoghosyan.

On June 1, Commandant for the state of emergency Tigran Avinyan had declared that the Institute has already released the first batch of 350 coronavirus tests which were sent to the National Center for Epidemics Control and Prevention for experiments. However, the Ministry of Health has trouble saying when the Center will complete examination and when production of the tests will be launched.

Earlier, the Molecular Biology Institute had reported that it has received all the necessary materials to prepare 100,000 tests and that it expects to produce nearly 1,000-2,000 tests a day after the period of experiments.

Currently, according to the ministry, there is no problem with the coronavirus tests in Armenia, there are stored tests, but the ministry said it can report the number of stored tests after a relevant inquiry.
