Deputy Governor of Armenia’s Syunik Province Narek Babayan today told reporters he is on good terms with Mayor of Kapan Gevorg Parsyan and added that the news about their tense relations is false.

Touching upon the events that took place in Kajaran, a journalist said the events are linked to criminal-oligarchic circles, adding that when Hunan Poghosyan was appointed governor of Syunik Province, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s main message was that Poghosyan will be able to do away with criminality in the province. In response to this, Babayan said the following: “I wouldn’t like to give an evaluation of this. However, all residents of the province can affirm that there have been many positive changes in the province after Poghosyan’s appointment. There can be incidents in all provinces, but what made this incident stand out from the rest was the fact that there were people who tried to politicize it.”
