YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: An investigation should be carried out in any case of death from the coronavirus; this is required by the European Convention. Also, compensation must be given for that death. Former Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan had said this in his publication yesterday.

How do you imagine that process in these Sodom and Gomorrah conditions of Armenia, we asked him. "I insist that. According to the precedents of the European Court, reports had to be prepared in connection with the fact of each death; which has not been done. (…).”

Or maybe there are almost no deaths that are the result of "pure" coronavirus? "Whether the death was from the coronavirus or another disease, these are medical circumstances; but they must have their legal justifications, even in the case of the most ordinary death.”

All this has not been done [in Armenia]. Who will do [it]? The future halls of power? When? "Such a thing cannot happen; it's impossible. Whether it will be 6 months, 1 year later, legal assessments must definitely be given to all the facts of death because the issue of material compensation also follows it…here the problem is the state. The state must fulfill its duty, especially if it concerns the most essential issue: the right to human life."
