Armenia’s healthcare system is ready to overcome to challenges that have emerged as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. This is what Deputy Prime Minister, Commandant for the state of emergency Tigran Avinyan said during a special session of the National Assembly today.

Avinyan recalled that in March, about 2,500 hospital beds were allocated for in-patient treatment for patients with COVID-19, and over 300 of those beds were provided to intensive care units. “Patients with COVID-19 receive medical assistance at 19 medical centers, 7 of which are located in Armenia’s provinces and 12 in Yerevan. Doctors have also undergone training and participated in different webinars,” Avinyan added.

Avinyan also informed that specialists from Germany, France, Russia, Lithuania and Italy have provided assistance to Armenian doctors.
