Sunday is the main voting day in the Belarus presidential election, BelTA reported.
The presidential election in Belarus is held on the basis of direct suffrage by secret ballot. To win election, a candidate must poll over 50% of the valid vote, and turnout must be at least 50%.
The people who are running for president are incumbent President Aleksandr Lukashenko, as well as Andrei Dmitriyev, Anna Kanopatskaya, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, and Sergei Cherechen.
A total of 248 international observers and nearly 50,000 domestic observers are monitoring the election campaign.
