Even if the government gives a negative response, we will go to the Bagratashen border checkpoint and wait until the border is opened. This is what a Russia-based Armenian citizen said during a protest in front of the government building today.

“There are elderly people, pregnant women and children who are already sleeping on the streets since they don’t have money to survive at the border checkpoint. We’re waiting for a response from the Russian Embassy,” the citizen said, adding that those who didn’t have health problems, now have health problems and have swollen feet.

“We have called paramedics several times. On behalf of all of those 70 citizens, I ask the government to open the border so that we can go and reunite with our families,” the protester added.
