YEREVAN. – One of the key preconditions for ensuring the active transfer of people to the EU member states is the implementation of the agreement between Armenia and the European Union on the readmission of persons residing without a permit. Armen Ghazaryan, the head of the Migration Service of Armenia, stated this at Monday’s meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations during the discussion of the issue on the ratification of this Armenia-EU readmission agreement’s protocol of between Armenia and Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg).

Ghazaryan proposed to ratify two more similar protocols, which were signed earlier under the relevant agreements with Bulgaria and Germany. "This is especially important in the context of the fight against illegal immigration," he said.

The aforesaid parliamentary approved the matter.
