The US Federal Trade Commission is preparing a lawsuit against Facebook on charges of violating antitrust laws, according to The Wall Street Journal, citing sources.

According to them, the commission has been testing suspicions that Facebook is abusing its position to restrict competition for more than a year. The staff of the commission considered the available information weighty enough to take testimony from the head of the company, Mark Zuckerberg.

The sources noted that fact of preparation of the claim does not mean that it will be presented for further consideration in court. This decision is made by a vote of five members of the commission, of which three are Republicans and two are Democrats.
