Armenia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ara Ayvazyan today received newly appointed Ambassador of China Fahn Yoon, who presented the copies of his credentials, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

Minister Ayvazyan congratulated Yoon on assuming office and expressed confidence that the newly appointed Ambassador will make his valuable contributions to help maintain the dynamics of the Armenian-Chinese multisector relations and further expand the bilateral agenda.

Expressing gratitude for the warm and kind wishes, Ambassador Yoon conveyed the congratulatory remarks and kind wishes of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi to Minister Ayvazyan on being appointed foreign minister.

The interlocutors exchanged views on issues on the bilateral agenda.

The Armenian foreign minister provided comprehensive information about the humanitarian crisis created in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) following the Turkish-Azerbaijani military aggression and the actions being taken to address the crisis. China’s newly appointed Ambassador informed that China’s official position remains unchanged, that is, the final settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh must be an exclusively peaceful settlement within the scope of the Co-Chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group.
