Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan yesterday hosted outgoing UNDP Resident Representative Dmitry Mariyasin.

The minister thanked Mariyasin for the significant work, close cooperation and heartfelt attitude towards Armenia and wished him success.

The interlocutors discussed the achievements made within the scope of joint programs for provision of support to borderline communities, rural tourism and community capacity building and the current results of those programs. Papikyan emphasized that the UNDP serves as an extremely important partner for Armenia. He also attached special importance to the UNDP’s involvement in the program for reimbursement of utility bills of hotels and guest houses provided to citizens of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and discussed with Mariyasin the opportunities for provision of support to the social integration of citizens of Artsakh displaced as a result of the war.

Mariyasin also thanked the minister for the effective cooperation and assured that the UNDP’s support to the improvement of living conditions in settlements in Armenia would be ongoing and that the geography would expand, covering also the provinces that have become borderline provinces.
