Within the framework of his working visit to Russia, Armenia’s Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan met with the Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Sergey Levin.

The agenda of the meeting included the promising topics of Armenian-Russian bilateral cooperation in agriculture.

Khojoyan briefly presented the strategic directions and priorities of the agricultural sector of Armenia, as well as the support mechanisms provided by the state to the economic entities.

The parties reflected on the trade of agro-industrial products between Armenia and Russia, and stressed the need to increase this trade.

They touched also upon the development trends in seed breeding in Armenia, and conferred on the operation and effective use of anti-hail systems.

Among the topics discussed was also bilateral cooperation in viticulture and winemaking, in which Armenia has a considerable track-record.

The avenues for deepening cooperation in the scientific sphere were also discussed, the matter of effective land use was also raised, and, also, the interlocutors considered the avenues for the development of the capacities of research institutes.
