YEREVAN. – Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan, from 1988 to 1992, and retired servicemen in Armenia will continue to receive housing assistance. Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at Monday’s special sitting of the National Assembly, during the latter’s debates on the matter of electing a new prime minister.

He noted that in 2019, such refugee families began to receive dwelling certificates for the first time in more than ten years. "These people have been living in extremely poor living conditions for decades. Certificates have started to be handed over to military pensioners, too. As of 2018, 1.5 to 2 billion drams are being allocated annually for the refugee program, and about 8 billion drams—for military pensioners. All these issues have not been resolved for decades, whereas now they are finally being resolved," Pashinyan said.
