YEREVAN. – An incident was registered Thursday involving Azerbaijani servicemen who has crossed into the territory of Armenia at the border of Gegharkunik Province, the Ministry of Defense informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

At around 3pm, several dozen shots were fired, presumably in the air, after which the Armenian army units fired warning shots.

The commander of this Azerbaijani military contacted the commander of the Armenian unit, asked to stop the fire, apologized, and said that these shots were accidental.

The Armenian Armed Forces warns that the recurrence of such incidents will be considered a deliberate attempt to go to confrontation and will lead to appropriate actions by the Armenian side.
