American film producer Harvey Weinstein, convicted of rape and sexual harassment, will be extradited to California to attend new sex crime trials, The Telegraph reported.

The Los Angeles prosecutor's office plans to extradite Weinstein between late June and mid-July to indict him on 11 counts of rape of five women between 2004 and 2013.

Weinstein's lawyers have filed an appeal against the extradition order of a Californian court, as the former producer's health deteriorated due to diabetes mellitus and he needs urgent medical attention. However, the prosecutor's office in New York, where previous hearings in the Weinstein cases were held, believes that the convict is able to go through extradition to another state.
