The court is holding me captive. Former Deputy Prime Minister, now an opposition MP, and a member of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Armen Gevorgyan said this at Tuesday’s court hearing on the criminal case against him and second President Robert Kocharyan.

Earlier, the court had banned him from traveling to Moscow where he was scheduled to attend a session of the PACE commission, from November 30 to December 4.

As previously reported, the court had ruled that participating in this session in an online format would be sufficient for Gevorgyan.

"I no longer see a chance to defend my rights in this court. The court is holding me captive. This is a biased attitude which the court does not hide," Gevorgyan said.

Earlier, the court had not allowed Armen Gevorgyan to attend the autumn session of PACE.
