Russia consistently supports the reduction of tension on the border between Azerbaijan and Iran, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova said today.

“We are certain that all the issues in the relations between the two countries only need to be solved politically and diplomatically and that the disagreements need to be resolved with the friendly-neighborly spirit. Russia is making efforts for unblocking of all economic and transport links in the South Caucasus, proceeding from the fact that the interests of all countries of the region, including those of Iran need to be taken into consideration,” she said.
