In September 2021, an absolute record number of 661,141 paid jobs was registered in Armenia. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted about this during the debates on the 2022 draft state budget at Monday’s joint meeting of the standing committees of the parliament.

"We have never had a higher indicator in Armenia. The previous maximum was registered in September 2020, amounting to 631,966 jobs; the increase is 3 percent.

Against the backdrop of the rather high 6.4-percent inflation of the current year, it is important to emphasize that in September the gross payroll [in Armenia] increased by 15.3 percent compared to September of the previous year.

The salary of one employee has increased by 11.9 percent, or by 23,780 drams [approx. US$50], compared to September of the previous year," Pashinyan added.
