Some villages do not have water at all due to the presence of Azerbaijanis in Gegharkunik Province—in the territory of Armenia. The Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, told this to a press conference Wednesday

According to him, this is a consequence of criminal actions by the Azerbaijani side.

"The presence of the Azerbaijani armed forces in the territory of Armenia is a violation of the people’s right to life," he stressed.

Also, the ombudsman cited some respective facts that have been included in his special report.

Tatoyan expressed a conviction that the issue of withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from Syunik Province’s Tsav village territory, where the Azerbaijanis had penetrated in October 2020, should also be included in the negotiations.

He noted that Azerbaijani signs have appeared on the roads of Armenia—and with the aim of intimidating people, as well as later deploying representatives of the Azerbaijani security services, whose commander-in-chief threatens Armenia as well as the people of Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) every day.

"This important factor must be taken into account. This is a gross violation of the right to free movement," Arman Tatoyan concluded.
