Fatal hit-and-run took place in Shirak Province of Armenia on November 6, shamshyan.com reported.

At around 6am, a car hit a 55-60-year-old man on the Yerevan-Gyumri motorway, the victim died on the spot, and the driver fled the scene.

The law enforcement officers found out that the man who died as a result of this hit-and-run was Shirak Province resident Samvel Arakelyan, 54.

On the same day—and thanks to explanatory work—, Yerevan resident Hmayak A., 34, turned himself in to the police, and informed that at around 5:30am, he had hit the aforesaid pedestrian while driving the SUV his friend from Gyumri.

Hmayak A. has been detained in the framework of the case filed on the incident, and the vehicle involved was impounded by the police.
