United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken will address the UN Security Council meeting on the Minsk agreements on Thursday, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, US Permanent Representative, tweeted.
"Overnight, after a series of conversations with the White House, the National Security Council, and the State Department, I asked Secretary Blinken to come speak directly to the UN Security Council on his way to Munich about the serious situation in Ukraine," she tweeted.
Blinken, she said, is arriving in New York on her way to Munich to demonstrate a strong US commitment to diplomacy and also to suggest a path to de-escalation.
