Analysts of American investment bank Citigroup made a forecast according to which the probability of occurrence of full-fledged crisis in the world economy is 50 percent, Bloomberg reported.

The main reasons for the possible crisis the authors call tightening of monetary policy by central banks around the world and weakening demand for goods. At the same time, persistent supply disruptions are triggering inflation and slowing economic growth.

“Historical experience shows that disinflation [политика государства, направленная на борьбу с инфляцией] often comes at a significant cost to growth, and we see the chance of a recession now approaching 50 percent,” Citigroup said in a report.

At the same time, the authors note, financial authorities in various countries represented by central banks can still correct the situation and "project a soft landing.” For this purpose it is necessary to provide a stable supply and stable demand.
