We cannot allow "terrorist organizations" to take the issue of Sweden's NATO membership and bilateral relations with Turkey hostage, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during a telephone conversation with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Anadolu news agency reported.

Erdogan congratulated Ulf Kristersson on his appointment as Sweden's new prime minister.

In response to a letter sent to him by Prime Minister Kristersson on Oct. 19, President Erdogan said he would be happy to receive him in Ankara. According to him, Turkey is ready to develop bilateral relations with the Swedish government in all fields.

Erdogan stressed that it is in the common interest to prevent terrorist organizations from taking Sweden's NATO membership and bilateral relations with Turkey hostage.
