The Armenian Cilician Seminary and the Mekhitarist School Aleppo have suffered damages as a result of the earthquake in Syria, Armenians Today reports.

It was reported earlier that the Armenian Church of Holy Forty Children of Aleppo and the Holy Mother of God Church of Kessab suffered damages in the quake.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that an earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.4, occurred in the Kahramanmaras Province of Turkey on Monday at 4:17am, and there is devastation in a number of cities. According to the Turkish authorities, the earthquake was accompanied by 32 aftershocks, the strongest of which was 6.6 in magnitude. There is destruction in several regions of Syria as well. The earthquake was felt also in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon

According to the latest data, 1,504 people have died in Turkey and Syria as a result of the tremor.

Hovhannes Aleksanyan, the Head of Strategy Development at the Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia, informed that four Armenians died in Aleppo and two in Turkey as a result of the earthquake.
