Past daily of Armenia writes: A few days ago, the President of the Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] Republic (AR), Arayik Harutyunyan, called a working meeting with the leadership of the law enforcement system.

He put a number of tasks before the law enforcement system and particularly emphasized the need to take “all measures” to find out the persons who squandered the funds provided by the Artsakh Investment Fund and the Support Fund of Village and Agriculture, especially after November 2020, aimlessly used [them] or maliciously avoided paying them back, to recover the damages caused to the funds and the state.

It is noteworthy here the fact that the issue of inspections in these funds came up after [minister of state] Ruben Vardanyan became the chairman of the board of trustees of both of them. The thing is that until January 1, 2023, Arayik Harutyunyan was the chairman of the board of trustees, and only on January 9, those powers were transferred to Vardanyan by a presidential decree, and exactly one month after that, Harutyunyan gives such an assignment.

It is interesting what suspicions the AR president has about these funds that he did not have during the period when he was the chairman of the board of trustees, especially since the period of inspections concerns that very sector...

By the way, let us add that, according to our information, about 10 billion drams of loans have been provided by the said funds after the war [in 2020].
