In 2022, approximately 1,666,000 tourists visited Armenia. Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan announced this during the presentation of the 2022 report on the progress and results of the implementation of the 2021-2026 government program at Monday’s meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration.

Thus, according to him, 790,400 people arrived in Armenia from Russia, or 2.2 times more than in 2021, and about 17,200 people from Belarus, which is 2.4 times more than the previous year's indicators.

"The inflow of remittances has also increased. In January-December 2022, it amounted to 5 billion 190 million [US] dollars. An increase in the amount of remittances from Russia was also recorded. It amounted to about $3.6 billion; this is 4.2 times more than in 2021," Kerobyan added.

From February 2022 to March 1, 2023, a total of 113,753 people arrived in Armenia from Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine for the purpose of residence. And 64,862 of them have Armenian surnames that end with "yan."
