Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes: Azerbaijan is forcing the RA to delimit border, but it has not done this with any other country.

Armenia has not carried out border demarcation and delimitation with any neighboring country, although there are no territorial problems with Iran, Georgia and Turkey. Taking advantage of the fact that border delimitation and demarcation has not been carried out between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan, the neighbor from the east, presents new territorial demands to Armenia almost every day.

Zhoghovurd newspaper inquired from Tatevik Hayrapetyan, an Azerbaijani Studies specialist, candidate of historical sciences, whether Azerbaijan has carried out [border] demarcation with other neighboring countries and is now trying to put pressure on Armenia.

In a conversation with us, the expert explained: Azerbaijan does not have a delimited border with its neighboring countries—Georgia and Russia—; moreover, there are major disagreements with Georgia in this regard.

As for the border with Iran, they are delimited according to the Soviet maps. But there are problems with Iran also, in terms of the division of the Caspian Sea, control of resources; so there are major disagreements there, too.

And why is it [i.e. Azerbaijan] threatening Armenia, forcing it to carry out [border] delimitation on its own terms? "The Azerbaijani side, not having a delimited border with its neighbors, exerts enormous pressure on Armenia because it has clear expansionist ambitions related to Armenia.

"And a few days ago, the president of Azerbaijan admitted that they do not respect international law, the supreme power is their priority, and they should solve problems by force, whereas the rest are lyrical digressions.

"Naturally, they negotiate, they use these processes to strengthen their positions, but then they go to new escalations [of the tension]."
