The 18th Geneva International Oriental Film Festival is being held this week, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia informs Armenian

This festival is one of the largest cultural events in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, and it features the newest and best works of cinematography from dozens of countries for one week every year in June.

Armenia is represented at this year's this festival with a special status, as 2023 marks the 100th anniversary of Armenian cinematography.

Within the framework of this festival, the aforesaid anniversary of Armenian cinema will be celebrated Saturday with great pomp within the framework of Armenian Day. And two Armenian production films—“The American” and “Gate to Heaven”—that have participated in many international festivals and won awards will be screened.

Also during Armenian Day, the embassy of Armenia in Switzerland will organize a reception.

Armenian Day is already receiving the attention of major Swiss media.
