Iravunk daily of Armenia writes as follows: The internal political situation in Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] remains tense. All political forces are waiting with bated breath for the election of the presidential candidate [in parliament]. However, they are still not sure that the election will go off without a hitch, as even now [United Homeland Faction head] Babayan Samvel wants to take advantage of the situation.

Our local sources are sure that Babayan will organize provocations, if not by himself, then through his teammates. Surprise actions on that day by Babayan and the Soros wing, so to speak, of Artsakh are not excluded. Our local source expressed concern that [Azerbaijani president Ilham] Aliyev could also go to a serious confrontation on that day; a clear proof of this is the [Azerbaijani] blockade of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan line of contact with military equipment in recent days.

In particular, they fear that Azerbaijan may calmly accept that the conformist president of Artsakh [i.e. Arayik Harutyunyan] has resigned.

It is noteworthy that until the election day, no political force and no person wants to speak publicly, even on humanitarian issues. "Be patient, let's finish September 8, then we'll talk; talking now is also volatile." This is how the representatives of Artsakh political forces justify their silence.
