Tadevos Avetisyan, an MP of the opposition Armenia Faction of the National Assembly and a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party, has been detained by the police in Yerevan, the National Committee reports.

"Legal permissiveness: Armenia Faction MP Tadevos Avetisyan has been brought to Erebuni police station," the National Committee said in a statement.

As reported earlier, actions of civil disobedience have resumed in various parts of Yerevan since early Monday morning.

Citizens have blocked a number of streets and paralyzed traffic in some areas of the Armenian capital city.

In some areas, the special police forces have started detaining people. The police declare that the aforesaid actions by the citizens are illegal, and urge them to clear the streets, as they undermine the right of free movement of others.

Also, there is a large police force at Republic Square.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that large-scale demonstrations have begun in Yerevan amid the latest Azerbaijani military aggression unleashed against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) on September 19. People demand answers from the Armenian authorities for their inaction in the Artsakh issue.
